O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens and when we gaze upon them, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what are we Lord that you are mindful of us? What are we that you care for us enough to condescend to us? You the King of kings becoming a Servant of servants?

You the transcendent, glorious Lord of glory, the bright eternal Morning Star who spoke into existence that which didn’t exist until You uttered the word, united Yourself to humanity, fully God, yet fully man? Such things are overwhelmingly wonderful Lord when we consider the lengths You went to make us Your own. May You re-center, re-orient our hearts to the reality of Your perfect Kingship as well as Your perfect Servanthood toward us who were Your enemies, that You have made us Your very children. Melt and warm our hearts by the greatness of Your love shown in the face of Christ.

(BCP) Purify our conscience, Almighty God, by Your daily visitation, that Your Son Jesus Christ, at his coming, may find in us a mansion prepared for himself; who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
