Russia Today with Gerald Celente on the Economy

Gerald Celente discusses the current status of our economy with Russia Today. In posting this, it is not an attempt at fear-mongering, but simply to point out what needs to be heard so we elect leaders who know what they’re doing to get us out of this. Frankly, even most Republicans don’t seem to understand what to do either. As one guy said recently on a blog I read, “First we need to elect competent leaders who know how the machine of politics and economics works, and then we’ll talk about issues.”

The Death of Christ, and the Redemption of Men Thereby

synoddordtThis is an excerpt taken from the Canons of of the Synod of Dordt pertaining to the sure salvation Christ has purchased on behalf of His people. Far from being dry old dusty doctrines, these statements are full of life, hope and great to meditate over to give us a deeper sense of what has been accomplished by Christ in the work of Calvary. Whenever we sing the song When I Survey the Wondrous Cross by Isaac Watts at church, well, this is what it means to survey it. We consider and stand in awe at what Christ endured on our behalf and how great His love is to do such a thing for wretched sinners. If you have not taken the time to ever read through this excellent statement affirming the great wonders of God’s grace and denying those ideas that attempt to subvert the Gospel’s greatness, I highly suggest it.

ARTICLE 1. God is not only supremely merciful, but also supremely just. And His justice requires (as He has revealed Himself in His Word) that our sins committed against His infinite majesty should be punished, not only with temporal but with eternal punishments, both in body and soul; which we cannot escape, unless satisfaction be made to the justice of God.

NBC Starting Prime Time Green Push This Week

Worth noting, if you’re an avid prime time NBC fan … I’m not, but some of you may be. Don’t get me wrong, I like a couple of shows (The Office to name one). But I do find quite a conflict of interest with all of this green talk, GE, NBC and the Obama administration ties to all of it:

20th Anniversay of the Fall of the Berlin Wall

NewsNote: Moral Clarity and the Fall of the Wall – Albert Mohler

This day 20 years ago, November 9, 1989, was the day the Berlin Wall fell and Communist forces conceded their oppressive reign. I was ten years old and although I didn’t understand the full implications at the time, I can still remember watching the event unfold on the television and my parents being thrilled. My dad then explained to me the significance of that moment. And studying the history of how it got to that point later on, it became much clearer how truly significant that day was.

In order to commemorate 20 years of what represented the fall of a tyrannous, authoritarian, Communistic regime imposed upon a large portion of Europe and all of Russia, I wanted to post a few images and a musical work that captures the cultural deprivation and devastation resulting from so many years of oppression and repression.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind: The Hidden Horror of Abortion

We must confront this issue and abolish this act. To think that this is approved and has legal backing, that every day babies (little people!) are being killed for the sake of money and convenience, completely grieves my heart. Watching this video brought me to tears. It is of greater importance than probably any other issue we face in our time. Why would we continue to expect that the Lord will bless our society while this is going on?

If you’re a believer in the Gospel of Christ and still undecided about the “issue” of abortion, listen to Abby Johnson’s story, former director of Planned Parenthood in Bryan, TX. Then looking through the lens of Scripture and God’s justice concerning the weakest among us (the poor, the sick, the weak, the homeless, orphans, widows, infants, babies in the womb), it is inconceivable that anyone considering themselves a believer could approve of this reprehensible act or just not even give a glance as to what has been approved in our society. As horrible as it is, we must acknowledge and face what is going on behind closed doors, in the secret places where no one thinks they are seen.

As horrible as this is, as I’ve said before, if you have had an abortion or have assisted in any, there is great mercy and cleansing of sin through faith in Christ alone. Repent, come, believe and be cleansed by His saving blood, shed on behalf of sinners, not the “righteous”. God saves the guilty through the life, death and resurrection of His Son who perfectly and completely intercedes on behalf of those who rest in Him for their salvation.

CBO: GOP Health Care Plan Lowers Costs; No New Taxes

(Info found linked on BigGovernment.com)

As opposed to the Democrats plans to change the health care system, that calls for more irresponsible spending (money we don’t have), more taxes, and will inevitably lower the overall quality of health care for the long-term through a muck up of bureaucracy, the GOP has released their plan which calls for less spending, not more, no new taxes, and which lowers premiums.

Interestingly, the CBO (the Congressional Budget Office, that pesky independent Congressional fact-checking agency of the government) seems to agree with those assertions and backs it up with numbers. Check it out (PDF): http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/107xx/doc10705/hr3962amendmentBoehner.pdf.

Planned Parenthood Director Leaves, Has Change of Heart

http://www.kbtx.com/home/headlines/68441827.html (fyi, this is just a news station article about the director stepping down)

If people really saw the horror of what an abortion procedure entails, they might come to a similar conclusion. Watching a procudure on ultrasound apparently had enough of an effect on the now former director of Planned Parenthood in Bryan, TX recently to make an impact, a drastic one I might add. She quit her job.

I’m not one for publicly displaying posters of the procedure as some seem intent on doing. I think it is tacky, tasteless and offensive to do so in a public setting. Yet at the same time, it seems we have really neatly packaged it in our society in such a way as to avoid thinking about what it actually is altogether. “Out of sight, out of mind” seems to be the motto as it pertains to this horrific act, and yet it goes on.

Who Really Deserves Anything Except Judgment?

Do Smart, Hard-Working People Deserve to Make More Money? – The Baseline Scenario

This really got me to thinking. When the argument put forth in this article is set on the Biblical backdrop of God’s meticulous sovereignty over our lives as opposed to ‘chance’ or ‘luck’ (which does not exist) as asserted in the article; and when this argument is set on the backdrop of what man truly deserves for his rebellion against God (eternal conscious torment, not anything good, let alone wealth), I think James Kwak is certainly right in terms of people receiving a certain lot in life outside of their control, but it is owing purely to God’s good sovereign pleasure, not chance or luck. For who makes men to differ from others? Themselves or the grace of God or chance? “What have you that you did not receive?” (1 Cor. 4:7) “But by the grace of God I am what I am” (1 Cor. 15:10). All that we have has been given, as a gift.
